Why do we even care whats outside the solar system !!?

Because flying to a nice, new Earthlike planet around another star might be at the very limit of what we can expect to do someday. And interstellar flight would provide Earth's life (we'd take plants and animals with us) a future that could potentially be a thousand times longer than the remaining habitable time left to Earth.
