I lied about getting into a certain college. What do I do?

It's bad to get caught up in a lie but from what it sounds like you are doing a good job keeping things under control . I remember what highschool was like the good and the bad parts-I made it out and I know you will be just fine- please do not do anything that would jeopardize your health and safety- Gaining admission to a school does not define who you are or what you know. I'm currently waiting for graduate school notifications to come back so I know how stressed you must feel. I think people will forget about this week's gossip and move on to what's new next week. Focus on your studies and on making some real concrete plans for after college. If people ask you where you are going, be honest- You aren't going to MIT- you are going (insert school here) or you are still waiting to hear back from more places. MIT is quite expensive really pushes the issue on why you aren't attending you can tell them that. Good luck with the rest of the semester!
